What To Expect
From the moment you arrive at our National Park gate you will enter into a world of wildlife, fresh water lakes, white sand beaches, and breathtaking boreal forest.
Our four-season adventures are plentiful and diverse. Life in the forest offers distinct season changes. Did you know Prince Albert Nationa Park (PANP) is home to the only fully protected nesting colony of pelicans in Canada? Or that the usually elusive wolf population makes their way to open areas of the frozen lakes to hunt in the winter?
PANP is a bird watchers paradise and a photographer’s dream. The sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking. Another gem of the north are the people.
The community, visitors, and staff always have big smiles and friendly hellos as you walk the townsite enjoying the shopping, museums and possible wildlife sightings!
Did you know Waskesiu is the Cree Indian name for “Red Deer”? The Cree refer to “Elk” as “Red Deer” and you have a very good chance of seeing one of these magnificent animals.
Visit Waskesiu – It’s a great thing to do!
